We went to see Old Fort Niagara, but found it too expensive, so we explored the park and it was AMAZING. Beautiful beaches with views of Toronto - what more could you want?

First time visiting this park on Lake Ontario. Excellent off season experience with friends.
We just walked along the lake shore and stayed close to main parking lot, and didn't have much time to see the actual fort. This park is not far from Niagara Falls (about a 15 to 20-minute drive north).
We were just mesmerized by the sheer size of Lake Ontario, even though it's the smallest of the Great Lakes. On a clear day, which it was, you can see downtown Toronto from this park, a distance of 30 miles across the water.
Overall, wonderful visit and great park!

On a clear day the views of the Lake and Toronto are fantastic. We were very surprised at how well we could see Toronto. We were short on time and didn't do any of the historical activities but they were some very interesting things going on. Recommend stopping by if you're in the area or have some extra time while in Niagara Falls.

Such a delightful way to spend a few hrs away from the touristy Niagara Falls . Bob who was the volunteer is so passionate about the history of Niagara fort . His excitement was palpable . Every exhibit was meticulously curated . One the best days spent .. they competed with the jet boat in the itinerary . The volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable but the eye for details really enthralled us . Highly recommend it .
Take the free trolley from visitors center . Well worth it

We visited the historic area of Fort Niagara State Park. Normally these old forts don't offer a whole lot, but Fort Niagara had a lot of interesting buildings to explore. Most of the areas were still accessible despite COVID. The main house had several floors and was well-maintained. Crowds not too bad either.

Clean the area dirty socks were on the side walk when we walked in! The life guards were sitting around gossiping and talking about personal business and had nasty attitudes! It was clear they only want a check! Not allowed to do anything slide was closed can’t wear goggles with a nose piece! If you walk fast they call it running!

My son and I absolutely loved touring this Fort. The musket and mortar demos were an added bonus. We enjoyed having one on one conversations with the characters. They were willing to answer any questions. The views are amazing. They have a guided tour but we also found the printed material guide to each building really informative.

We enjoyed walking around the park. We could see Toronto skyline in the distance, it was such a clear day. Its beautiful to walk around. Unfortunately the fort closed at 4 pm. It was great to see the river flow into the lake.

Very interesting history -- located at the outlet of Niagara River into Lake Ontario. The interpreters were excellent--knowledgeable and entertaining. Accessible for wheelchairs, although there are parts of stone walkways that are a bit dicey. Doable though. Buildings well preserved. Pretty views of both river and lake.

The Fort sits inside of the state park. The park itself is a good destination point. There are playing fields, a pubic pool and tons of picnic space along Lake Ontario. I was there on a clear day and could even see Toronto across the lake in the distance.
