My wife and I took our 5 & 7 year old girls and were so very impressed. Despite it being a foggy, blustery day, we really enjoyed ourselves. The prices seemed a little high at first (20/adult, 8/child), but they were definitely worth it for...More

The Habitat "zoo" was lovely and interesting what they do for wounded animals. The trails are not difficult to the vantage points and if they even have an elevator to the highest point if you can't climb or don't want to go on the bridge....More

Beautiful views from Mile High Bridge on Grandfather Mountain near Banner Elk NC! The State Park has a “zoo-like” wildlife habitat where we saw bears, mountain lions, elk, otters, and eagles. Awesome experience!

Took family over Thanksgiving vacation and it was beautiful. Love the mile high bridge. Beautiful hike up the side of the mountain. Best in the warmer months

Many reviews here confuse Grandfather Mountain State Park, a unit of the NC state park system, and Grandfather Mountain, the attraction. The State Park is free; there is an admission charge to Grandfather Mountain. You can access the trails of the state park via the...More

It does not cost anything to park and hike in the state park. It only costs to go to the tourist area which is still privately owned.
