Thursday is the day to visit per flyer in our timeshare. We arrived just in time to be escorted by a wonderful docent Sherry. We enjoyed the art, sculpture and especially the glass. Before this visit Chihuly was only glass artist that we knew. Sherry taught us about glass school Penland where Chihuly and others were taught. Tweetsie Railroad added... More

This was our first time visiting the museum. The have pottery, works of art, and a library with a sitting area in the museum. The building is large enough too to be able to view the larger works at a distance to see the different vantage points of the art. The staff was helpful and provided a brochure to help... More

BRAHM - world class art in an unexpected location. This new, state-of-the-art museum features works by Elizabeth Bradford, Bob Timberlake, Elliott Daingerfield, Philip Moose, and more. BRAHM curators know that these artists cannot be appropriately understood without the context of the history of the area. The synergy of art and history makes this a most special museum. I have marked... More

Recently I took a class at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum learning about Face Jug Pottery and actually making one! What a fun afternoon and great learning experience. Just a few days ago I was fortunate enough to get tickets to the Dom Flemons and Dante Pope performance. Playing to a sold out crowd Grammy Award winner Folk... More

I took my wife, on our 50th anniversary, to brahm to see a North Carolina native plant inspired art exhibit. To set this stage, we have been going to Blowing Rock since the 50's when it was a cool treat, literally, to go up the mountain to the "auctions." We have gone back fairly often but our visits were confined... More

We were amazed at the beautiful new building. It fit perfectly in the charming ambiance of Blowing Rock. The varied and enjoyable collection held equal or higher footing to the lovely grounds and creative architecture. We especially enjoyed a special exhibit that was focused on native plants. This provided extensive information about the value of native plants in our gardens;... More
