Yes, a tourist trap. It is not free but the $7 entry charge is not bad. The views are spectacular and the Blowing Rock itself not as grand as you would imagine. Some of the strongest winds I have ever experienced on the day we...More

It had been 20 years since our last visit, so we decided to hit see the Blowing Rock. What views an history! Extremely simple, but effective, photo displays of days gone by make this both visually enjoyable but also educational. Take an hour to let...More

We stopped on impulse, quite honestly thinking it was some government park site, but went ahead and paid the entry fee when we found it was private. First, the view is very nice, but can be had at other spots on the mountain. Second, the...More

The rock is not large, but the grounds are pleasant and well-kept. The gift shop is well-stocked and the ice cream is good.

Went here for a visit with my wife for our 20th anniversary. It was a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. We really enjoyed the view and would love to come back in the fall!

This is a nice little park, views are great. They have a couple of overlooks. There is an interesting “photo area” with historical photos and memorabilia of the area. Cost as of 4/18 is $7.00. But be forewarned it gets very windy up there!💨

Well seriously....I am baffled as to why this would be something you PAY to see. It's just a rock, not unlike the thousands of others you see all over the area (the photos are taken from an angle that make it look larger). We all...More
