My family had so much fun here, and we found quite a few gems in our bucket. My 2-year old enjoyed it as much as my 11-year old, my husband, and myself.

We tried this place because the weather was not good at that time to go around outdoors. So we got the small bucket with my 4 and 9 years old along with my husband, spent a good hour sifting through the rocks, cleaning and finding treasure gems! My boys enjoyed the whole experience. We were so thrilled for all the... More

I have been to other gem mining places with my children, and this is the first one where we actually got a lot of good stuff. We got the $70 bucket and split. When I first heard the prices on here I was a little shocked. After going there and doing it, the $70 bucket is actually worth it. The... More

We took our two kids (9 and 7 years old) to Foggy Mountain Gem Mine in April. The staff was very helpful. They came by several times as we were mining, and asked with we needed help. I thought they were very accommodating. After we completed our bucket, the staff went through our discoveries and explained what we found, how... More

It was so much fun. The staff is excellent and very helpful. We were surprised at the amount of gems we found. We had more fun than we expected.

My three old son and I got the $30 bucket and thoroughly enjoyed the shoveling, sifting, and picking experience. It was kind of a yucky day out so not too many tourists out and about so we had the place to ourselves. Michael was very patient and showed great excitement in explaining to a three year old the treasures we... More

We have mined several times ... In several different places, BUT by far..this was the very very best. The guys are incredible and the buckets were FULL of treasures. If you are in Boone...this is a DON'T MISS! Splurge on the larger buckets..... BIGGER gems!

Update: I did my original review 3 weeks ago. Along with the $120 MotherLode pail, you receive 2 free cut stones. We also got 2 more along with our 2 free. We opted to get 3 cabachon stones(Tiger Eye, Banded Agate, and Peach Moonstone) and a Mystic oval. They came in today and were amazed at the quality. I've included... More

We went to the another gem mining down the road which wasnt half as good as this one.. The guys were super knowledgeable here. They even showed us the type of gems we ended up finding. And they were five bucks cheaper. My son really enjoyed himself. Thanks for the time!
