We really enjoyed the trip. We took the Nantahala Gorge excursion and picked the Open Air Gondola. Honestly, I think that is the way to go, even though the weather will impact your trip. You see more that way and the lower price makes it...More

‘‘Tis is our third time riding the GSMR. It’s always a fun time. It’s well worth the money. We always book the open-air car because you can see more scenery and you can move around from side to side. Wonderful family event.

We were celebrating my birthday and were really disappointed. We were looking forward to some scenic views...it was mostly of KUDZUE. We would not do this again. Not worth the charges😡

We took the diesel train to Dillsboro. Got the seniors' discount. It was a fun trip. I'm told that the other route to Nantahala is even prettier but my brother, a train buff, wanted to go on the diesel. We took the open air car...More

They have a Senior Discount, a AAA discount, and an ACTIVE military discount - none of which can be combined. It's one or the other but not two or three.
