Have you ever looked a tiger in the eye? Felt the whole-body impact of lions roaring? Watched wolves romp through the woods? These and other once-in-a-lifetime experiences are possible at the Conservators' Center, a wildlife conservancy for more than 80 animals with a focus on education, conservation, and rescue. An "oofing" at the Conservators' Center is an experience you'll have to feel to believe. It's the earth-shaking sound our lion prides make when they roar to one another. Our guides call to them on every tour, and you may have the opportunity to hear them from as close as 5 feet away! You'll also get up close and personal with tigers, leopards, wolves, lemurs, binturongs, and other exotic species. We receive no state or federal funding to transport or house our animals. Tours, adoptions, memberships, and other donations support our work, so every visit from you helps us help them.

It's not a zoo. It's up close and more personal. Come with ears to listen to a great guide, come ready to ask questions, come with feet ready to walk! I brought my 2 year old granddaughter with us. She was a little young but hung in there. Definitely needed water for her. It would have been much easier if... More

I booked the toys and treats tour and was not disappointed. The staff and volunteers were very friendly and informative. They gave a great tour that was engaging with each animal, and told us each of their unique stories of how they arrived at the conservators center. I highly recommend the tour to any animal lover. The tours are reasonably... More

My dad and I love animals and went to the treats tour and saw the animals interact with new scents on their toys and also saw them enjoy food from the tour guide! The best of all was hearing the lions roar. Quite a humbling experience and epic to say the least. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who... More

We went on a treats and toys tour and had a wonderful time. It's uplifting to visit a place like this and witness such dedication and passion. The volunteer staff and tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The animals are well cared for and clearly adored by the staff. I read many reviews here on TA before our visit and... More

Rescued animals are safe and healthy here. You can get up close to all the animals. Enjoy the many big cats, 5 feet away. Check first for their tour times. This place is maintained by contributions from visitors and friends.

The guided tour was great. Our guide Sean, was funny, informative and eager to answer questions. He knew each animal's history. Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

This was my first visit to the Conservator Center in Burlington, NC. I enjoyed the Treats and Toys tour I took. The guides were very knowledgeable and shared stories about the animals, they both made animal sounds to try and get the animals to do the same. It was very neat hearing the lions roar to each other. There are... More

How often do you get to stand within 3-5 feet from a full grown male lion? You can at the Conservators Center. We took a twilight tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. They care for so many amazing animals. Since it was closer to evening, many of the larger animals began waking up and vocalizing. I can't say enough... More
