What an awesome view! The lighthouse is easily viewed & there's a visitor's center on site. This is just one of several site's to visit along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. If you appreciate American history, you'll want to see this.

Enjoyed visiting this relocated lighthouse at it's new location about 2 football fields from it's previous location. I have personally felt that the park rangers and other staff were well informed, helpful and courteous.

If the lighthouse could talk! Imagine the ships it led to safe harbor! Climb the lighthouse and view where it once sat. Breath taking views of the ocean, within walking distance to the beach and nice gift shop.

Cape Hatteras is a wonderful lighthouse to visit in a beautiful location! To climb to the top you will need to be able to walk 257 steps up but wow!! The view is breathtaking- if you're not already winded from the climb. Lol. Be sure...More

Sorry, this review isn't really about the lighthouse, although we did walk up the steps a couple of years ago. As you would expect, an incredible view of the Buxton area. If you can handle the climb, definitely worth the effort. We love the entire...More

Yet another way for the state of North Carolina to make money off of you... my wife and I have 3 elementary aged kids, so for us we would be charged $28 to simply climb stairs to enjoy the view? No military discount? Charging the elderly and disabled? We are from Western North Carolina and there are no fees for the overlooks on the Great Smoky Mountain highways... and I promise the views are much more spectacular.
