Pretty place....

A nice place to visit while in Carolina Beach. We were sorry that it rained through much of our visit but, we made the most of it. Hope to come back again for a longer visit.

I love this diverse park. You go from beach to swamp to dense forest in a short hike !! I highly recommend this park to all nature lovers and anyone who would benefit from some exercise and fresh air !!

This past weekend was our first camping trip to Carolina Beach State Park. We were visiting the USS North Carolina and had planned to stay the weekend instead of just making it a day trip. Arriving at the park, with reservation in hand, we parked at the marina to get checked in. All went well, check in was efficient and... More

Carolina Beach is a small state park in the town of Carolina Beach (the park is not on the beach) on the Cape Fear River side. There are about 6 miles of easy hiking trails along sandy soil with almost no elevation change. The only exception is at Sugarloaf Dune, one of the highest dunes on the east coast. There... More

It has a lot to offer. If its low tide, the paths have great beaches on the Cape River to have a picnic. For bird watchers, its overwhelming. The marina has a feeding station for painted buntings (look them up). And they are supposed to have Venus Fly Trapsl

Loved every minute! Took our dogs and they also had a great time. Ended up walking 4 miles. Easy hike!

Walked the flytrap trail and never saw the plant. It was a nice hike and a beautiful day. Lots of trails to hike and a nice campground.

The sites can be tight for some rigs but have good separation. A few sites have electric and there is water and dump available. Almost all sites partially to heavily shaded, could not get satellite service. Note that gate is locked at 9PM so you can't stay out late.

Just minutes from town and the beach, this little park is like a completely different world from the ocean side of the island. Raised walkways and sandy paths let you stroll at your own pace. There is a wonderful visitor center with a great interactive children's area. As with almost all of NC's state parks, it is free to visit... More

I grew up by this park and it was my playground as a kid. It is typical coastal pine barren located on the Cape Fear River. Many trails and a very diverse eco-system. Great marina with boat ramps, very nice camping. They now have camping cabins you can rent. I do not believe they have full hookups, just power. Don't... More
