Surprisingly Good

The course meanders through an upscale community. There are abundant woods, wetlands and native plantings so the houses do not detract. The course is hilly to the max. I'd hate... read more

Serene and beautiful. Very easy drive from Chapel Hill and well worth the time. Excellent for bird watching or just contemplative time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

I own property at Chapel Ridge, but also like to play The preserve. I tis a very challenging course and your ball strikes must be precise. The course has matured and is a beautiful set up, is well maintained and aesthetically pleasing. I would recommend this course for the more talented players.

Such a shame I didn't take photographs as this is a very beautiful and well maintained course. I contacted the club from the UK and the Head Professional organised for me to play the course on a regular ladies day. This group of ladies, many of whose also play at Chapel Ridge were so welcoming and hospitable, embracing me as... More

The course meanders through an upscale community. There are abundant woods, wetlands and native plantings so the houses do not detract. The course is hilly to the max. I'd hate to walk it but players were walking. Gas carts of course. The fairways were in excellent shape and the bunkers consistent and well maintained. The greens had been punched recently... More

Beautiful homes but a long ride from any place like a city or the airport. No shopping, even grocery stores for miles.

We played here on Friday, 10/23/15. The weather was great, sunny & 77. The staff was very friendly and organized. The course was in good shape. Greens were a little firm. Pace of play was good, about 4 hours 15 minutes. This was our second time to play here and we will definitely come back again.

I played at the Preserve Golf Course a week ago and I was really nice. The course was wet but there has been tons of rain this winter, so I really can't hold that against them. Greens were in great shape, golf carts were new and the staff was friendly. After the round we had a late lunch in the... More

Bring an extra few golf balls. There are many forced carries over wetlands, with some off of downhill, tight lies. If you are off the fairway, this course will eat your lunch. They have cleaned up several areas, seemingly due to competition from their excellent sister course, Chapel Ridge, but still errant shots generally lead to losing your ball and... More

Excellent Davis Love III course near Jordan Lake. Conditions were very good given heavy recent rains. As a short hitter, I could have used firmer fairways for more roll. Bring lots of golf balls. Fairway-crossing "natural areas" a challenge for the timid. Greens take some getting used to. Bent grass tough on a Floridian used to Bermuda. Don't pick a... More

We played this course toward the end of April and found the fairways to be better than other courses we have played in the last couple of weeks. The greens were in very nice condition albeit a bit firm and didn't hold quite as well as I thought they should. The pace of play was very good and we never... More
