I live in the area and have visited the Planetarium in Chapel Hill many times. Each time was amazing - a more recent visit included my young grandson who was equally enchanted with the overall experience

We have gone to the Morehead Planetarium many times and it's a new adventure every time. I love that they offer events other than just the standard daily events. We enjoy the Stargazing outings, as well.

This is the day for the lunar eclipse where the red moon comes out. The Morehead planitarium is having special shows for the event & at $9.50, it's a great deal! Beautiful building, nice store, & a rose garden out front.

I would definitely make sure you plan other things to do in Chapel Hill unless you’re local, because this won’t take much time. I just took my kids over one morning when we had nothing planned. The planetarium shows are nice...they’re for younger kids (3-10)...More
