Kids ask to go back all the time!

Ok - set your expectations. Is this place a professional waterpark? No. Does the water have the clarity of a tropical waterfall (or even mountain waterfall) destination? No. Are you able to keep your clothes and shoes clean when visiting? No.

Is this a place that your kids will beg to go to over and over? YES!

Growing up in central Florida - I can say that the Bullhole is a place my child self would've loved and that is backed up by the fact that my own children love it. The water flow is subject to rainfall and not any sort of natural spring - so you can go on a relatively dry day or a raging rapids kind of day. Either way - bring clothes that can get filthy, shoes that will help you grip the bottom, and a tube that you can ride down the water with.

It also doesn't hurt to bring some water, as the area can get pretty hot. There is shade to sit under though. Snacks are a plus as well.

Visited with the grandkids Saturday. Was the first time I had visited. It's a beautiful place. Kids had a great time playing in the river. Park was very clean. There were security cameras near restrooms and covered picnic area which to me was a plus. Was a short walk to the river from the parking area. Looking forward to visiting again.

This is a different, scenic place to cool off and relax. The crowds that visit are sketchy, so be warned that characters come to this park, because it IS free. However, the falls are welcoming and inviting to those who wants to sit on the rocks and just be refreshed, or those seeking more adventure can slide down a rapid or two in rafts. Some choose to jump off the rocks into the reservoir. Visitors can just sit by the water and relax. Great spot for pictures! Popular summer attraction for sure. Dogs love to visit the park too. I recommend checking it out if you are in the area!

What a view!

Took at trip to the park to take pictures of Cooleemee Falls. What a view! After parking in the lot, walk down a trail for a short distance. You can hear the Falls before you can see them. The trail ends up at the river, then look to your left. Wow! There is a large rock face that runs down into the river. Be careful it could be slipper. There is a nice beach area for sunbathing. Swimming is at your own risk. (The rocks are slippery and the water fast moving). Great for photos. There is a restroom near the parking lot and a picnic area. Good for a day trip.
