We visited last year, and it was interesting to read about the history of the area and the weather station. It's a cute little building, and I had always wondered what it was like. It didn't take long, and it's a nice thing to do...More

The old Weather Bureau is today a visitor's center, but it also hosts a small museum about how meteorologist's worked in the old days. If you're interested in weather it's an interesting stop.

Great Building preserved now a visitor information center. Original doors and millwork along with the gorgeous bannister make a tour worth while. Pick up info on a lot of area activities

Ok, this place tells you at least a little bit of interesting information about the Outer Banks, like how the Oregon Inlet was created. But other than that, it's all just a weather station and a bunch off brochures.

There is some posters on the walls. Nothing for kids to be interested in, and a bunch of travel information. I wouldn't waste your time.

I learned more from the brochure than I did the attendant at the facility. It seems you're on your own. If you don't read everything you won't know anything. The attendant was kind enough to turn the lights on but that was about it..

My husband and I visited this little "museum" thinking it was a weather station. It is not. There were a few exhibits and pictures, but nothing to make it worth a special trip to visit. Disappointed. Cute on the outside, but don't bother stopping.
