This is a stunning waterfall not far from Highlands, NC. You can actually walk down and walk behind (unfortunately we didn't because we were losing light. We'll be back again to walk down and go behind the falls.

Worth a visit. A walkway takes you down to where you can walk under the falls. The parking lot isn't large and can get crowded. Lovely drive through the forest to get there.

The kids enjoyed walking behind the falls. The walkway and stairs were very sturdily built and you felt safe walking on them. There is an overlook at the parking lot for people who cannot take the stairs.

Parking aplenty. An accessible view for those who just want to look at the falls rather than trek down. It’s an easy walk along a paved path and steps until you reach the actual falls, then it’s still easy just not paved. What goes down...More

Not very often that you get to walk behind a waterfall. A paved, not very long trail (but not wheelchair accessible) leads to the falls. Even on a rainy day it is a fun experience.

It was worth the short drive outside Highlands to see this waterfall. You can actually go down and walk behind it.

Pretty Falls with good path to walk under Falls. Try to go at Time that is not peak, like early am or early evening to miss crowd and get a parking space

They have free parking (they do accept donations to help with upkeep.) They have restrooms (porta-potty style but in a structure like many state parks have.) It's not a big lot but there's a lot of turnover there so just wait for a space. Nice...More

It's been a number of years since I last visited Dry Falls so I was pleasantly surprised at the road level walkway that gives a great view of the falls without having to walk down 2 flights of stairs. Besides it was very cold this...More

Not the steps down as this is mountainous terrain. But, all the pictures I posted were taken from the main walkway.

I told my gps Dry Falls, Highlands NC and it brought me right to the waterfall. Highway 64 has 2 lanes and sharp winding curves. If you're heading from Highlands to Franklin the waterfall is on your left. There is 1 sign... More
