Visible from the highway, this 120-foot waterfall sometimes displays a rainbow in the afternoon light and has been known to freeze up during the winter.

Very little water coming off of the rocks. The road went under the falls at one time, now it is barricaded off. After a heavy rain it might be something to see. Can be enjoyed from your car.

As you can read from many waterfall sites, one big attraction for this waterfall was to drive on the road that goes behind it. But the road is crumbling, and there is now a blockade to keep you from driving behind the falls. Not to...More

This was a small waterfall. You can no longer drive under the falls but that is OK. It is smaller than expected, too.

We stopped here while driving through the mountains. It was really pretty but there wasn't much water while we were there. It's right off the road so it's easy to get to. There weren't many people while we were there but I imagine it can...More

Not worth a special trip to see it. It is just a small trickle of water falling of the mountain. Nice that you can see it just by driving down the street.

This makes for a nice stop going to or from Highlands. There is room to park and get some nice pictures from varying angles for the best shot.

Surprise... just drive a mile or two outside of Highlands and bam! There they are.. just pull over. I loved that they were right there and we didn't have hike anywhere to see them!

My family stopped because it was easy to park and walk down the stairs to view the falls. We had fun walking behind the falls and getting slightly misted. Unusual experience. It was difficult to take a picture without others in view...it's a popular place.

Once again, a WNC fall that is literally, just along the roadside. You can swing into the parking lot and be amazed that a fall can be seen dumping water into a hole in the earth surrounded by rocks and ends up under HWY64W and...More
