This isn't a very big center (though not bad at a little under 1 mile of trails) - but it does have a ton of raptors, vultures etc. I drive almost 2hrs to get here and have been with my young children 4 times now....More

We were a little disappointed by our ability to take pictures of the birds. The cages are made of thick wire. Some of the birds are sitting on their perches but others are far from the viewing area, for example, the bald eagles. The grounds...More

Thanks for your review. We'll have folks out during the week all summer starting in June. You can also see our flight show this summer for FREE with regular admission thanks to our partner Duke Energy who is funding it this year for all visitors.

The birds are nicely displayed in a way that makes them very accessible yet everyone is safe. Unfortunately the eagles were courting so we didn't get to see them this time. There are opportunities to see programs with birds and feeding. Make sure you check...More

This is a great place to take children where the adults can enjoy themselves as well. Every time I've been here, there is something different and new to see. The bald eagles are always awesome, but so are all the different owls.

Very educational and interactive for adults and kids! Latta plantation is right next to it so plan to do both! Pack your lunch and make a day of it.

Are there wheelchair accessible parts of the tour?

Hi Breeanna: Our trail is a hard packed screening gravel trail. The challenge for wheelchairs is that it has erosion control bars throughout that can get a bit bumpy. In terms of grade, it is about 75% flat with the vulture... More

Hi, what would you like to know about this attraction? Hi, could you tell me how far it is to walk the trail? My wife has some walking difficulties.

Hello! Thanks for your inquiry about Carolina Raptor Center. The full trail walk is 3/4 of a mile. About 75% does not have a grade of over 10%. It is a hard packed trail with small (screening) gravel.

Is this experience just a walk around outside hoping to see these birds, or do you get to see birds being rehabilitated and living there up close?

Birds are in large cages and you can see them very clearly. If you call ahead you can find out feeding times. Hope this helps😊
