We took our 3 grandchildren for a visit and really enjoyed it. The exhibits are really interesting and well done. Lots of local history and very interesting memorabilia in the exhibits. Well worth the trip.

Nice building, interesting exhibits, good graphics. Staff seemed a bit preoccupied. It was a good way to spend a hour while waiting for an appointment.

If you love history (Ashe County in particular), you'll love this beautifully, lovingly restored 1904 courthouse. First floor is a museum of Ashe County history. The second (courtroom itself) is still under renovation.
