I enjoyed the indoor museum and the outdoor monument. I liked seeing the distances of the different flights. The walk up the hill to the monument gives you great views of the surrounding area.

Even if you have a mild interest in flight, this is a must visit. Take a walk up the hill and visit the monument. Some really nice views from up there all around. The visitor center was moved to a temporary building when we had visited but it's still a trip that's totally worth it.

First, I would recommend an early trip. This place fills up fast. The museum offers some great information that they never taught us in school. But my favorite part was walking the grounds and seeing where history took place is the most amazing part. Take plenty of pictures especially on top of the hill where the panoramic views of the... This is an excellent take. They have a full sized replica of the original Wright flyer. The accompaning lecture is educational and very well presented. It's amazing how much the technology grounded by these brothers has evolved.

If you have ANY interest in flight, this place is worth the pilgrimage. The visitor's centre was in a temporary building when we visited (the main building was being refurbished), so we didn't get to see any artefacts, but there were still very knowledgeable volunteers available to walk visitors through the site. We visited the actual Flyer at the Smithsonian... More

I really enjoyed our stop here! The park ranger did an excellent job of telling us about the Wright Brothers and their flight attempts there, as well as a bit about their lives in Ohio. So informative, and an inspiration, too!

This is a fitting place for the aero engineer and photobug to visit. Touring the site of the first powered manned flight (07 Dec 1903) proved to be weather challenging. Academic perspective of what the Wright brothers did can be gained from books, but the physical environment must be felt to appreciate their achievement. Under sunny skies, we felt the... More

This is an amazing site. There is an excellent museum on site, but it is closed for two years for renovations. The staff Ranger gave an excellent and very inspiring presentation - the best I have ever witnessed. Don't miss it! The site includes Kill Devil Hill where the Wright Brothers launched their gliders, the original sight of the first... More

Had a ranger led tour that made the visit 5 star. He was born on the islands and has been a ranger for 40 yrs. We got lucky! Also walked to the small airport named after the Wright Bros. And we're luck enough to see a Blackhawk helicopter and a marine Osprey aircraft. Only reason for 4/5 stars, visitor center... More
