We had visited this facility about 8 years ago. I had been chasing after my then-three year old granddaughter so I cannot say I remember any of the exhibits. This time it was just my DH and myself so we really got to explore and take in the presentations. With the senior rate, we found the entry fee reasonable. The... More

I LOVE the Aquarium, And I am a member of the NC Aquarium and Zoological Society. Not only is the facility designed to house and protect all manner of marine life, there is a sustainable marsh area where visitors may view coastal plantlife and coast birds. The Aquarium is dedicated to continuing education and hosts countless school field trips and... More

The aquarium is on the small side compared to many we have visited, but there are a lot of great exhibits. Several touch tanks allow for a hands-on experience. A small outdoor play area was fun for the kids. We also paid additional to enter the birds display. You can purchase nectar and feed the birds. Be prepared because they... More

If your at the beach when it rains this is a great place to go. All the exhibits were very cool. The main aquarium is really cool. A great way to learn about wildlife and have fun too.

There were touch tanks and great displays indoors. Knowledgeable young people were on hand to answer questions. Food is pricey. Walkways provide an enjoyable escape from the crowds inside. There is an entrance fee.

We did an overnight "Sleeping with the Fishes" trip with our Cub Scout pack over 2 weekends - March 4th and March 11th and had a super time. Our pack is so large that we had to split into 2 groups over 2 weekends. The staff at the aquarium did a great job of providing a quality program. The planning,... More

We always visit here on our trips to North Myrtle Beach. Always fun and informative. The new playground outside is awesome for the kids. Even though this isn't a large aquarium, we seem to really enjoy it better than the large places. The ferry ride over from Southport is always fun.

I enjoyed the aquarium visit. Most of the exhibits related to fauna of the N.C. coastal area and were presented in an educational manner. I think it is certainly worth your time.

This is an NC museum with interactive exhibits, lots of volunteer and paid staff to answer questions and just the right amount of sea creatures to keep it interesting. We visited with two young grandsons and they learned a lot and enjoyed it. There's also a butterfly house where they land on you with many different species. Beautiful location and... More
