A friend and I went to the pier to watch the people fishing to see if they caught anything. I really enjoyed hanging out and looking at all the fish that were being caught and meeting new people. I will say that the pier has a lot of gaps and worn boards. I'm sure they inspect it to make sure... More

If you are looking for a peaceful beach experience without the extreme crowd then Kure Beach is a great location. The pier was very nice and well built. There are several places to sit along the pier and view the sea. There are also cleaning stations to wash and clean your catch. There are several local restaurants at the base... More

The KB pier is centrally located and open all year round. Off season you can bike or bring your dog out on the pier. You can see for miles up and down the coast from here. Great view of the sunrise or sunset. Gets pretty busy in the summer. Souvenir shop right near by.

Great views down the beach. The pier itself is in pretty bad shape. The boards are loose and gapped enough you are watching were you step. Needs some new decking. Dozen guys fishing but no catching.

This is a fun place to take the kids. The view is beautiful but I'm always nervous because some of the boards have large gaps in between and I hold their hands the whole time because I am scared of them falling in the ocean. It's fun but not the safest thing to do.

We take a walk on the pier every year when we make our annual trip to Ft Fisher. Usually after a great meal at Freddie's. It's interesting watching the people out there fishing.

You must just walk out on the pier and watch the fishermen, it's free. The people in the store are so very friendly! We grabbed an ice cream and just took in the sights!

First of all, let me say I'm glad to see Hurricane Matthew didn't damage this iconic structure. Spent about an hour on the pier today, chatting with some of the locals (and not so locals) spending their afternoon feeding the fish. I say that because I didn't see a single one reeled in while I was there. But, I guess... More

Easy to get to and park. We enjoyed the fishing and got to see a large shark. Nice view of the beach from the pier.

The store leading to the pier is a colorful, locally popular spot. That being said, in October the shelves were at least 1/2 empty. There is a small snack bar that appeared to still be serving a limited menu. The pier itself was fairly crowded with fishermen, didn't see anyone bringing in fish, but the "reds" were supposed to be... More
