We went on a weekend and expected it to busy, but not organized. We got there at 820am, they opened at 830. We had to go to 3 different lines (one for tickets, one for boots and another for snowboard). It was 10am by the...More

Took our 7 year old for his 1st ski lessons. The teaching staff was great. But the lodge was way over crowded. The lines to buy tickets then get gear fitted was too much, took us about 80 minutes. The tickets boots and helmets are...More

Great experience for a first time skier. I knew that I wanted to try skiing, but had no idea about the "process" or what equipment I needed. All of the staff members were patient and helpful. They directed me to the right locations, hooked me...More

The slopes are good, I was really surprised at the amount of powered vs typical southern east coast slush and ice. However, the staff really needs to get control of the lift lines, the waits can be long and then very long when people who...More

We drove 3 hrs each way to ski. It was worth the drive. The one negative I would add is the confusion of where all the equipment rental is. Everything from your boots, to bib, to ski rental are all in different locations. Nobody telling...More

Only ~2.5 hours from Atlanta, the drive was a snap. It was cold the two days we were there, the man-made snow provided a reasonable base and pleasant runs. Snow up top was a little more icy, but great down on the green slopes. Real...More

We stayed at the A Holiday Motel that is off the main strip close to the road for Cataloochee. Older motel that has been remodeled, very clean and warm, but no hot tub on site.

Yes, both. Food was good, but lines could be long. Better to eat early -- both breakfast and lunch -- to beat the lines. Lodge area is small, but service was good!
