This place is a little rustic but worth a stop. We panned for gems and the kids loved it. It was an easy activity for everyone to do within 30-45 minutes.

Quaint little place. We had never panned for gold before so thought we would give it a try. Roger was very helpful in teaching us the correct technique. Very friendly staff.

Wasn't sure at first when pulled up, but turned out to be a great time! Three kids- 6,8&11- they loved panning on gemstones. $10 each. Got tons of stones...they brought them back to RV and played with they for hours. Cheap entertainment with educational value!

This is one place that we always visit when we`re in Marion. If you like to pan for gold you`ll enjoy this mine. You can pan under a covered area or go an sluice in the, so called, river. It`s more of a stream. Or you can highbank further on down at the pond. Not expensive. Good clean fun.

Went in June, had an awesome time. I don't think I want to become a gold miner. Did the $15 bucket found very little gold, but my friend found what they call a "picker". I wish we had tried the high banker though, maybe next year. We had a great time. Everyone was very helpful. I think everyone should experience... More

Went camping for a week at Lucky Strike. Arrived late and called to let them know, they said park anywhere. Halfway through our stay they called us while we were out exploring 45 miles away and insisted we come back and move our camper to another spot immediately (heat of the day) because the one we were in was reserved.... Hot showers. Friendly people. Get the buckets it's all worth the experience. Rick taught us how to pan, he is a gem (no pun intended). I felt so welcome. We will do this trip again.

There is nothing more rewarding to a parent than the joy on a child's face. " Look Daddy I found a ruby!" Indeed, my son found a small, perfect red ruby while mining. The lucky Strike Gem mine is unlike any other gem mine I have been to. You can buy buckets of gems for $10.00-$100.00 or simply pan for... More
