Fascinating, breathtaking and just awe-some. A must see if you are in Mount Airy. The shear size of the operation is worth the trip let alone visualizing what they are actually doing.

This is an impressive quarry. The history of it is very cool. The granite here is used in a lot of places.... Including our Capitol building and national monuments.

Free and impressive drive up to be edge of an open granit mine. Hard to believe how big it is. Took some pictures. Quick stop. Cool.
