We were looking for a public golf course near Linville and this fit the bill. We played 18 and were pleased with the course, the condition of the course. Its a very nice public course. However, we had an 11:30 Tee time and the course had ZERO management of the Tee time. It appeared to be a free for all,... More

The golf and views were great. Beautiful day, wonderful course, and lots of fun. Our foursome really enjoyed the day. The customer service needs some tweaking. Be excited to have guests from other states or locations. We played four courses on our trip and the personal at Mountain Glen were the least enthusiastic and affable. We would play it again... Mountain Glen is a beautiful golf course that is always in wonderful condition. The Pro Shop is staffed by super friendly folks (Sam, Kathy, Gary, and David). After your round, stop by the grill and have a hot dog "all the way." Best meal in North Carolina!

We were staying in Banner Elk and the activities lady at the resort suggested we try Mountain Glen. It was an awesome course with incredible greens and great overall condition. I was the only one playing this day but Kathy at the pro shop took care of us. My wife rode along with me to make the experience even more... More

I play a lot of golf but never had time to play Mountain Glen during our visits to Banner Elk. I had read some reviews that the staff was not the friendliest. However, I had a chance to play on a nice Saturday morning recently. The staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape. We teed off... More

If you are looking for a well maintained public course that will rival most mountain private courses, this is one to play. Some of the best greens you will find anywhere. Be sure to call ahead to get a tee time in the summer months. Great course for players of all skill levels. Next time you are in Avery County... More

Had an opportunity to play Mountain Glen in August. The course was in wonderful condition, best greens I've played on in a while. The best thing about the experience is the staff and the locals. I've been returning to play for years and the people make you feel that you are one of their own.

This is a well maintained golf course with excellent, large greens. It is a worthy challenge to most golfers with a slope rating from the white tees of 126. The course has some nice mountain views even though it is built around a subdivision. The cost is about average for courses of this quality ($56, including cart). It is a... More
