The museum is interesting and well-done. The staff is helpful in providing directions and recommendations about hotels, restaurants, and things to do. The lady working there that day even suggested having our picture taken in front of Blackbeard... with eye patches. And she let us borrow a couple of cutlasses. Beware, Matey, those cutlasses are sharp. And those eye patches... More

Teach's Hole might not look like much from the outside but if you are at all fascinated by pirates, its well worth a visit. The price of entry (one piece of eight...) is just right. Blackbeard is the star of the story and its well told... you'll leave the exhibit with one of his famous flags and drive straight to... More

My wife and I visited Teaches' s Hole and found it interesting, informative and current on all the various theories about Blackbeard. They have accumulated some very interesting artifacts, prints, models, etc. Great gift shop for everything you need about pirates. We recommend it. If you are interested in the pirate history of Ocracoke don't miss it.

As a pirate aficionado. I enjoyed stopping and checking out the gift shop. A nice selection of newer pirate items.

Don't miss this exhibit for a look into Blackbeard's world. Very educational. Stand beside a Blackbeard lifelike figure for a photo to share with friends.

Wife and I love history and always fascinated by local legends. We ended up spending a couple hours reading actual diaries, newspaper articles and government documents related to BlackBeard. Never aware of his prior service to England raiding French ships, how he ran his ship aground, barricade of Charleston & ransom, and the fact he had been pardoned by the... More

Great exhibit if you are into that sort of thing. Has tons of information and artifacts about Blackbeard. I would like to see something like that about Ocracoke Island itself. Nice gift shop. Everyone should do this once but probably wouldn't be a repeat thing.

With tickets being super cheap ($4 for adults if I remember correctly) this is a perfect cheap family fun activity. It's filled with great facts about Blackbeard and his life. You get to explore Edward Teach's life before + after becoming a pirate + even how he got his ship "Queen Anne's Revenge"! There is great art all around the... More

Having 1st been to the Pirate Museum in St. Augustine, this museum was a little anti-climatic but perhaps more suitable for children. There was interesting information about Blackbeard to read and the gift shop had some fun things for pirate loving children.
