We were down on Ocracoke visiting and decided to visit the lighthouse as we had seen the others up on Hatteras Island. This is much smaller than other lighthouses in the area and is closed to the public. We got a photo and moved on with our day.

The lighthouse is in excellent condition, perfectly restored. This is a quiet setting. On our February visit the staircase was closed.

Ocracoke Lighthouse is an absolutely beautiful place to walk around and take in the sights. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and can make some beautiful photos. Unfortunately you cannot go inside the lighthouse, but it is still a great place to walk around. This is a must see.

My family and I visit here a lot, this past year we stayed at a house that was a walking distance from the Ocracoke Lighthouse and it is very beautiful and relaxing. This is definitely a place you would want to be with your family and/or friends.

Even though you can't go inside the old lighthouse, it is still a must see. The grounds are very attractive and the crowds are very small.

Dropped by near sunset and enjoyed the picturesque view of the lighthouse from the parking lot. It was cold and snowy so we enjoyed the lighthouse from our truck.

It's a pretty light house. But sitting next to Lighthouse you don't have a view of the ocean. Lighthouse itself is in use and therefore closed to the public. So you really can't go inside and see anything.

You can walk easily to this lighthouse from downtown and also see it from a lot of different locations on the island.

When you are in Ocracoke, it is hard to not notice the lighthouse which is the second oldest operating lighthouse in the nation. Access to it is easy for anyone. There is parking for vehicles and bikes. Thanks to a ramp that leads to the lighthouse base, those in need of wheelchairs can access it. For a different perspective, it... More
