A small parking lot with a walkway leading to the lighthouse. Can not enter the light house. The former lighthouse keeper home is adjacent but not open to the public. There is a tree in the lot with a unusually twisted trunk.

I had been to Ocracoke several times before I ever stopped and went into the lighthouse. There was always something else to do. When I finally visited, I was impressed at the grounds and the garden area leading up to the lighthouse and it is...More

We recently stopped here to see the lighthouse. Parking is extremely limited and tight. There is a 15 minute limit on parking. But since you can't climb the lighthouse 15 minutes is adequate. Make sure to visit the ranger station / gift shop in Ocracoke...More

Hadnt visited the lighthouse in nearly ten years and was pleased to find that you can now walk all the way up to the lighthouse. If i remember correctly the walkway out only went so far. It was beautiful as usual!

Kinda hard to find had to ask ranger for directions. Cool lighthouse but can not go into and walk to the top.

Unless you have to visit every lighthouse, you can give this a pass. NO Access inside, but impressive boardwalk to a locked no access door. Lightkeeper cottage is private residence.

The second oldest lighthouse in America, built in 1823, is still shining. A nice photo op! Too bad the interior is not available for touring.

Easy to find but, frankly not too much to see. It's lovely and in a delightful setting but the fifteen minute parking requirement is about right. You look, take a photo or two and it's time to move on.
