Love visiting lighthouses and Ocracoke is one of them. And I love photographing the lighthouse even in the rain.

Visited the Ocracoke Lighthouse while on fishing trip. Neat lighthouse. Check it out, it will not take long.

Ocracoke village was early on Pilot Town, whence experienced mariners guided ships thru the shoaled waters of Ocracoke Inlet into Pamlico Sound, thence to mainland NC. The lighthouse was an important component of this tricky operation.

Been coming here for 20+ years. Still love visiting when in the island. It’s small. It’s picturesque. It’s coastal. It’s ocracoke!

Beautiful fall weekend get away. Enjoyed everything from the Ferry ride to the bike ride around the island. The island is filled with a lot of history. Must see site!

Everyone I come here, it is such a delight. Fall is my favorite time. The crowds are small and the weather is perfect.

Not much to see as it is not open for tours and there is little information at the site about its history.

The Ocracoke Lighthouse is a beautiful historic facility! It's gleaming white exterior is an Ocracoke landmark. The history here is amazing. The only downside is that you're not able to climb to the top. I'd definitely recommend it!!!
