The grounds are amazing.

Even though you can't go inside the old lighthouse, it is still a must see. The grounds are very attractive and the crowds are very small.

My family and I visit here a lot, this past year we stayed at a house that was a walking distance from the Ocracoke Lighthouse and it is very beautiful and relaxing. This is definitely a place you would want to be with your family and/or friends.

Dropped by near sunset and enjoyed the picturesque view of the lighthouse from the parking lot. It was cold and snowy so we enjoyed the lighthouse from our truck.

It's a pretty light house. But sitting next to Lighthouse you don't have a view of the ocean. Lighthouse itself is in use and therefore closed to the public. So you really can't go inside and see anything.

You can walk easily to this lighthouse from downtown and also see it from a lot of different locations on the island.

When you are in Ocracoke, it is hard to not notice the lighthouse which is the second oldest operating lighthouse in the nation. Access to it is easy for anyone. There is parking for vehicles and bikes. Thanks to a ramp that leads to the lighthouse base, those in need of wheelchairs can access it. For a different perspective, it... More

I have visited this light house several times since I was a kid. Its so rich in history and a great place to take in the local scenery. Ocracoke island is a quaint little island with its own style of coastal country charm. Its a short ride from the ferry and is one of the main attractions on the small... More

Pretty simple lighthouse, unfortunately not open to visitors. Ample parking, great walkway with easy accessibility.

We rode bikes we had rented to the lighthouse. You cannot go inside. You can see it from different spots around the island. Only reason to go up close is for a photo op.

This is small lighthouse that is still shining it's beacon. It is not accessible inside but has handicapped friendly walkway.
