Great walking tour but seemed more ghost stories than history. We loved it but would have liked to hear more about the town and were surprised that Blackbeard wasn't even mentioned. Regardless, we would book again.

We met Mad Madge at the Villiage Craftsman shop and began our walking tour. It was most entertaining and pleasant experience. Madge told many interesting stories about the area and past inhabitants. The ninety minutes went by so very fast it was hard to believe that it covered ninety minutes. We could have stayed and listen to her stories for... More

It was alot of fun learning the history w/some ghost stories mixed in. Well worth the time and $$. Tours run Tues and Friday and are 90 min. starting at 7:30. Just a beautiful and awesome place!!

My 8 to daughter was a little skeptical at first because of the ghost story part, but once we started and got to experience the great story telling she loved it. Getting to hear history about such a historical town really brings it around how much a small island has seen through the years. Definitely a must do if on... More

The tours starts at the Villiage Craftsman at dusk and lasts about 1 1/2 hours. Loved walking through the village with a local historian telling all kinds of history and ghost stories. Ended up at the lighthouse and the harbor at sunset. The tour ended on the creepy dark Howard st., which was so fun. Remember the bugspray..

We had an incredible day cruising up all the little roads in Ocracoke. Don't miss the historical section. Don't let the dirt road fool you, great houses and a wonderful store to meander through.

We stayed in Nags Head and took the free ferry from Hatteras. We arrived at the Ferry dock at 11:00 and were placed on the 11:15 ferry. The crossing is about 40 min. Once there you drive about 13 miles to the town. Along the way you pass many turn offs for the beach with ample parking. The pony pens... More
