There's not too much to review about The British Cemetery other than it is very old , and if you like historical things ( like myself ), it is interesting to see. Most of the headstones date back to the 1800s and are kinda hard...More

Cemeteries are great snapshots of local history, and this one offers a reminder of WWII history and how close the war came to our shores.

This small cemetery in an out-of-the-way spot on Ocracoke Island commemorates the British sailors who died in WWII after being torpedoed by a German sub off the coast of Ocracoke. Never forget!

Fascinating history behind this cemetery. The British Flag flies above the graves. Very touching. The one place in America, I believe, there the land is owned by Great Britain.

This little cemetery has informative plaques to explain why some British military were buried at this little spot in Ocracoke.

The British Cemetery is a really interesting part of Ocracoke history. I won't ruin the story, but it is a good stop. Don't plan on spending more than a couple of minutes here though.
