Sliding rock is aptly named since the activity involves scooting through the water on your butt on slippery rocks. The setting is very scenic but it’s not worth the effort to navigate the parking and crowds in warm months.

I don't know of anywhere else you can go and get this type of experience. The place is busy in the summertime. It is well worth the visit for an hour or two. It will most certainly tire you out and help you sleep well...More

We were in the Pisgah National Forest in October 2017. The leaves were changing colors and the views were spectacular. Add the rapids at Sliding Rock and you have an A+ adventure.

[Warning: Young adults from Central Florida in for vacation] Although it looked like a crowded area, parking and waiting wasn’t that bad (perhaps because I’m coming from an area with hour-long waits at Florida theme parks. LOTS, BATHROOMS, PLATFORM This was probably the most unnaturally...More

Easy to get to. It would be great in the summer to go swimming. It was cold today. But I️ will come back another day

It was raining the day we went but still well worth the trip and a short walk from the parking lot to the falls. Great for children.

Sliding down a slippery watery rock with the risk of causing a brain bleed or fracturing something is fun? Lifeguard or not,. . really?? Then let's add the warning sign of 8 feet of water at the edge of this rock.. In summer, add crowds...More

Visit in the summer when it’s warmer and the kids can go down the natural sliding rock. The falls were free but may have a small parking fee in the summer. Still beautiful in the fall.

A great place to vist, had great fun here with my daughter. Big car park nearby and life guard on site. Was a little nervous at first as I'm not keen on deep water so I sent my daughter down first. She made it out...More

These rocks people can slide down into a pool of water. I don’t think I would venture there, but I’m sure a younger me would! They were closed for the season, so no life guard or bathrooms. Slide at your own risk.
