The Loop and Summit trails are seriously our favorite, and I have hiked trails in the Andes Mountains to a Seven Wonder of the World. I. Love. Stone. Mountain. My favorite part is that the loop trail has such diverse views. The waterfall to begin with is breathtaking. The jungle like trail to the homestead is well maintained and it... More

Stone Mountain has some wonderful trails that can accommodate multiple levels of hikers that also features a waterfall. There is also an old homestead to visit that puts you in mind of the early days in the area. A great solo or family outing.

Hiked to waterfall and middle falls with husband, 3 year old and 11 year old. Beautiful and worth going, but all those stairs were rough on an average person. The 3 year old gave out so husband carried him most of the way up stairs, with me huffing and puffing behind. We had a picnic lunch before hiking...many picnic table... More

The view from Cedar rock of Stone mountain is a must. Also the view from the Hutchinson Homestead of stone mountain is breath taking. Benches are... More

This was gorgeous but loads of stairs. My son Dan, my dog Chauncy & myself hiked the never ending stairs. Thankfully they had benches to rest. It was well worth it. No railing along the falls so be careful with your pet. Read on different review it is 0.75 of stairs and I believe it. Did this during our stay... More

Camped here for two nights and it was a well kept clean campground, make sure to make reservations! The bathrooms are big and I saw someone cleaning every morning, which is a huge plus. Camping sites are on the smaller side though and close together, which could be a good thing for groups

Hiked the MST today from the lower parking lot. This is a really great hike. Lots of elevation gain . Hike starts off uphill from the parking lot and continues o the summit near the Blue Ridge Parkway . About 6 mile one way. Great for a training hike. Stone Mt is one if not the most beautiful state parks... More

Went with wife on a whim since the weather was so nice - lot of nice trails and natural beauty. We went on the falls trail only this day and plan to go back to actually see the mountain - we never saw it from where we were. The natural beauty of the waterfall was amazing - 200 feet down... More

Stone Mountain is a great place for the hole family and your dogs. Just remember to take some water and good hiking shoes.

Although I want to do a lot more exploring at Stone Mountain State Park - and camping - I wanted to post this review now, which focuses mostly on the Hutchinson Historic Homestead at the base of the mountain. My husband and I visited on a mild February day with sun and 50º weather, and there were very few people... More
