Went here with group tour. We were only allowed to take pictures with the big statue of Mao Zedong and then back to the mini train and return to bus. Actually many things can be explored from this island but we don't have enough time.

Take a full day to visit the gardens and sites of the Tangerine Island (or Orange Island as it is also known). Access is easy by Metro and you can spend the day walking around the lakes and parks. Good clean family day out.

Definitely worth a visit. Very peaceful considering you are in a massive city. The statue of the big man is amazing.
