Thanks to our friend who visited us from the states , I finally went to the museum & I’m glad I did . The staff were very helpful & welcoming the museum is very well set out depicting a bygone era some wonderful & informative exhibits. I encourage any visitor to go see the museum especially kids . They will see & learn quite a bit . Thanks Jill for your help .

The Redland museum is a great place to checkout particularly on an overcast day when visiting the area. The younger kids in particular will find exhibits from life in the early days of Queensland.

We visited as we had a hour or so to fill before a lunch date. There was little evidence of visitors on our arrival. Inside there were two staff at reception who seemed delighted to have a couple of customers walk in. The collection is well laid out with faux heritage shop facade for alcoves of themed items e.g maritime and glass showcase cabinets for collections eg crockery. The highlights for us were the delightful Gulflander train and recreated train station and also the excellent murals bringing the various sections to “life” especially the Printery mural. Good light and airy premises and well curated collections. The external Blacksmiths area was not operational but visually interesting to stop and view.

We were so impressed with this local gem when visiting over the last few years with grandchildren that we have become members.
All displays are well presented, the venue is clean and well laid out, the staff and volunteers very friendly and helpful.
Our grandkids think school holiday activities are awesome.
My husband has decided to become a volunteer, and I will when time permits.

The Museum has great displays and for the more mature person, is full of nostalgia. Definitely worth a visit for anyone coming to the area. Congratulations to the staff and volunteers for their hard work in presenting local history so well.
