Worth the 20km drive in. Nice walk to crater and nice camping. Roads are pretty rough but if you have a 4x4 all good.

Very impressive, plenty of roomy campground near the crater with drop toilets. Unfortunately the private road to the crater was very corrugated and moved my LED bar but in hindsight it was worth the effort.

Have tried a few times over the last 16 years to get here. was not disappointing. Good information and nice walk. Though it is along way "just" for this, the experience in the surrounds is amazing. we saw a mustering on the Kidman station while driving back involving a whip-cracking horseback stock-man and death defying helicopter flying.

Eleven years ago when I was first in Australia, a great little Aussie horror film came out called Wolf Creek and it was creepy and made my date cry (probably not a good first date movie but oh well live and learn). Ever since seeing that movie I have wanted to visit the Wolfe Creek Crater to check out the... More

Stayed one night here. Walk into crater was great. There are 2 long drops at camp ground. But the most disgusting thing here is the amount of toilet paper and body wipes laying all through the camp ground. Use the bloody toilets. Disgusting people ruining a beautiful australia.

If travelling across the Tanami, you would be mad not to drive the short off turn to this place. Simply different and unexpected.

To imagine something big enough to create this huge crater with a rim many metres above the surrounding country side is very difficult and it is certainly worth a visit. We took our lunch and it was disappointing to find that although there was a shade erected over the very interesting information boards, there was no seat not even a... More

Don't miss visiting Wolfe Creek Crater if you're around Halls Creek or travelling on the Tanami Road. Things always look bigger and more spectacular when viewed with your own eyes than they do in photos. Wolfe Creek certainly did and the crater (and its story) blew us away, fantastic. Thanks to the movie, you can also impress your friends with... More

We have just spent a night at the crater. Watched the sunset from up on the rim in the cool of the evening. And the got up to watch the sunrise over the crater. So amazing. Then did the rim walk in the cool of yhe morning. There is a very steep sand track to the bottom about half way... More

My work colleagues asked me to join them on this trip to the crater one Sunday a few weeks ago and it was just after a lot of rain in one downpour, the road was muddy and slippery and boggy but with the driver being experienced we had the best time hardly passed any other vehicles it took us about...
