If you are at Wave Rock definitely go and see Hippo's Yawn

Nice rock short walk from Wave Rock. Plenty of flies on the way through the woods. Worth checking if you have a while over there.

Looks like a whale to me not hippo but hey. Easily viewable from the car park itself. A tiny tiny walk to the entrance. The rock is obviously collapsing/decaying now but at Dec 2016 still had shape - I expect some erosion to start crumbling in the next few years. If you miss it it's not biggie to worry about.... The kids had a bit of a laugh at this unusual rock formation and we enjoyed a look around. It's worth the short walk from Wave Rock.

Worth the walk from the Wave Rock and worth the detour as well. Bring fly net and plenty of water. Best visited in spring.

If you've driven all this way to see Wave Rock then don't miss Hippo Yawn. Take a stroll out to the Salt Lakes and read the tourist boards along the way.

Iconic rock formation in Hyden WA. It's a leisurely walk from Wave Rock, Hyden. This is a group of very big rocks that looks like a yawning hippo!

Easy walk or short drive from Wave Rock. Definitely add this to the visit in this area. And yes it really does look like a hippo.

it's worth the stop - makes fun pictures. I would not drive all the way there just for that, but combined with Wave Rock, it's totally worth the photo opportunity.

We were glad that it was close to our accommodation and it didn't mean driving somewhere else. Very large cave. Good to take a few pictures in "the hippos mouth" not much else to do there. Take a fly screen hat. Worth a look.
