There are an overwhelming number of potters to visit in Seagrove! To get your bearings and good advice on how to proceed, first visit this small but comprehensive museum/gallery/showroom of NC pottery.

During my stay, the NCPC had a Great Pots exhibit that provided lots of historical information and also comments on the older pots that pointed out notable aspects. I believe there is usually an exhibit in the main part of the Center.

This Southern museum shows the history of all local pottery in the Pottery Center of the USA It is very much worth the price of admission.

This is great place to start your tour through Seagrove. It has a great selection of different artists from several of the local potters. The staff is helpful with where to go while you're here.

I especially liked the collection going back to the early days of pottery-making in NC, and explaining the lengthy process of digging and preparing the clay, turning the pieces, making glazes, and "burning" (firing) the pottery.
