Didn't actually get to see the gallery. Check for days open. We were there on a Friday and they were closed. Not easy to find. Was wanting to bring home gifts but alas, no luck!

Ms Thurston's art gallery is housed in the historical Free Will Baptist Church from the early 40's I believe. The appeal and charm would be lost if her art was displayed in a fancy, sleek modern building. You will find few of those in the village of Sneads Ferry and you will miss out on a glimpse backwards to the... More

The owner is a delightful lady who loves art, her home in Sneads Ferry and sharing her passion for art with both children and adults. Do stop by if... More

The Thurston Art Gallery is a wonderful representation of Sneads Ferry culture. I read that one uneducated reviewer stated that the Art Gallery itself was run down. The Art Gallery is The Original Free Will Baptist Church that was built by preacher Harry Potter in 1939.The Gallery itself contains Sherry Thurston's and many others' artwork and holds valuable historical data... I collect art in that it has to be pleasing to my eye and something I can enjoy seeing multiple times. I like her stuff, I bought a couple of pieces a few years back which I had framed on my own and enjoy each day. I think for a local artist that she is skilled and talented. My only... More

Ms. Thurston has assisted in our businesses with drafting and designing logos, etc. She is extremely professional and proficient and always a joy to be around. Her gallery should be included on your agenda when visiting Sneads Ferry. Ms. Thurston displays a love of her children as an art instructor and a love of her community as a neighbor!

Sherry's art gallery captures the spirit and the community of Sneads Ferry and surrounding areas. Her artwork depicts local scenes of fishing, boating, family vacations, and more. She features other local artists, and hosts art classes for anyone of any skill level. A great place to visit on your way to Riverview Cafe and other local attractions in the area.

Just like most mediocre artists, Sherry Thurston thinks her art is the best. Probably because she's the only artist around. She is very nice, wish I could say the same for her run down studio... Now, I will still recommend that you visit this studio for the simple fact that she does seem to capture the nativity of Sneads Ferry.
