Rented a nice condo for the month of April. But have no access to the 4 clubs for drinks lunch or dinner. Only Tommy Thompson (nice restaurant)is open to non members. Also no access to the new fitness center, pools or tennis. Owners are members but there are no policy for a guest membership unless you rent for 3 months.... More

My wife and I arrived a bit over 3 years ago and I am disappointed. Not because St. James is lacking but one must carefully consider what you want from the experience. If safety is your goal it works. However there are trade offs. You live here in a bubble and have no sense of real community with the surrounding... More

We entered the Real Estate office on Thursday, April 6th and no one was present at the counter. When the blonde hair female finally saw us, we were treated so rudely. Her facial expressions and her tone and actually her words were inappropriate. She should realize that first impressions are EVERYTHING!! Any person who walks through your door is potential... More

My husband and I rented a condo at Saint James Plantation for the month of March 2017. The Condo was beautiful as is Saint James Plantation. The residents were helpful and very friendly. After our experience within Saint James we are looking forward to buying a home within the next few month. That being said. We made the mistake of... More

We owned a lot a St. James for several years; visited & stayed at a rental unit a number of times, however our situation changed and we sold our lot a number of years ago. Last week we were in the area and wanted to see out lot again (purchaser had built a home on it) and see how the... More

We spent 2 days driving through St James Plantation looking at property. The site is immaculate. Very well kept. We had lunch at Tommy's. The service was good and the food was made well with good size portions.

Lovely community. Not as close to Wilmington as I anticipated - approximately 30 minute drive away. Alternately Southport town is very close and very interesting.

We visited ST James and Southport in July 2015, and decided that is where we would buy our retirement home. Yes, almost everything that other reviewers have said is true. Avoid the sales office, they want you to but a lot of land in a currently undeveloped area, so that the number of homes increases. My previous buys bought at... More
