Open off of the tee with good par threes make this a hard course for any player. There is enough trouble by the greens to make approach shots difficult. We had not played this course for a number of years and it is showing its age. A good course that is need of upgrades to be the course it used... More

The layout has such potential, but the grounds are not cared for. Throughout this heat I have played many courses in Brunswick (Thistle - awesome, Carolina National - beautiful, The Pearl - terrific) and Lion's Paw has issues that are not weather related (as well as the inability to handle the heat like other courses). Many bunkers are hard packed... More

We always appreciate constructive feedback and will do everything in our power to address any and all legitimate concerns. Unfortunately, many of the issues mentioned in the review above are, in fact, very much influenced by weather conditions. Every course is different, with differing types of grasses, irrigation systems and terrain, and it is very difficult to compare one to... More

Please cut the rough. Slow play due to looking for balls lost in the rough. The course is in good condition but the rough us too long.

We certainly appreciate your feedback and we will do our very best to address your concerns to the fullest degree possible. I personally spoke to the golf course superintendent this morning and made him aware of your comments. As you may know, mowing roughs is a constant practice in the summer months and we have multiple mowers going full time... More

This is a very hard course from the white tees with 3 long par 3's and several long par 4's. For men. if you are not a big hitter, play the gold tees. It has a nice layout with generally good fairways and greens (mini Verdi bermuda). Concerning maintenance, there are some weeds, some untreated fire ant mounds, several unrepaired... More

Lions Paw was in good shape with fairways not as dry as Panther's Run. Greens were in great shape. Pro shop is outstanding and staff is very helpful

To be 100% honest it felt as if Lion's Paw was the step child of the Big Cat's courses. The greens has a ton of small weeds and were extremely bumpy. The traps didn't appear to have been raked in days, maybe weeks, and it didn't appear that anything had been blown in that same time. ALL of the trash... More

Played in early April and the course was in very good shape. The rough was dormant at this time of year. Greens were hard and shots would run out so play for the front. Staff was very friendly. Our package included lunch so ask when booking.

Lion's paw. To begin with I found there are very good golf courses in and around Myrtle Beach which includes leaving the State. Lion's Paw is in NC. Lion's Paw is about 18 miles north of Possum Trot Golf Course. A note here, we searched our GPS to bring us to Lion's Paw but really you should be looking for... More

Great combo of courses for low and high handicaps. Play all 4 (Lion's Paw, Tiger's Eye, Panther's Run, and Leopard's Chase) as a 4 round package is reasonably priced

The course was in very nice shape and the greens were smooth and ran true. The course tends to play longer than the card suggests. Not a really woman friendly course for the recreational golfer. The water plays a prominent role and makes this more of a target golf course. Again a little challenging for the average recreational golfer. However,... More
