FYI do not camp at lake Norman state park!!!! First they doubled booked one of our sites..... the bathrooms are covered in large spiders and not that clean..... also while on the water today they completely moved all of the personal items from one site...More

We stopped here to hike on our way to Winston Salem from Charlotte. Trail was well maintained with intermittent views of the lake while hiking. Well done visitors center. Very hot, but that is expected in August. Glad we visited here

Really a great location for hiking. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the park is really gorgeous.

Visited the park on a hot August day. It was a huge, well kept park with several buildings where you could find assistance from helpful staff. They provided us a a free map and there was no park fee. We did a 8 mile lakeside...More
