This is an interesting place to visit, as it's really several different areas spread out over a wide geography. I enjoyed the "Wildlife Drive," the Tall Pines Trail, and then headed east to another spot near the river (Griffin Road). I visited this Refuge on a warm day last month. I did not see any animals. There was only one family at the lake. I was the only car visiting it at the time. This is one of the best Wildlife Refuges I've been to because it's so little known that if you're looking for wildlife you'll see very few people.

Well worth your time, this is a place to renew yourself. The rangers are very helpful with information concerning trails vantage points fishing and any other questions you might have.
