Wilmington has the largest National Register district in the state of North Carolina, so there is an abundance of historic architecture to see. The river walk is a special feature of downtown and there are lots of great restaurants.

The Wilmington area is full or history. The carriage tour is a great way to learn some of the history and take a few minutes off your feet.

There is so much to do in Wilmington’s Historic District. There are lots of tours, boat rides, shopping and eating in and around the historic district. You will have more than enough to do during the day and night.

We so enjoyed the horse/buggy ride. The gentleman gave us a fabulous narrative of Wilmington's historic district. He kept us laughing ... it was a highlight of our vacation.

We did not book carriage ride or meals in advance, but don't about the summer months. Park at the parking garage. Think there is only one public parking garage in the historic district.
