What the museum lacks in size, they make up for by changing the exhibits to keep it fresh that is why a review will only be for that exhibit or that event. They also host tons of local events and things for members. They are very creative about constantly using the space and keeping people engaged. The museum is located... More

Small musuem- we were only able to see one exhibit- the other space was being set up for a new exhibit- The one we saw was interesting, don't have the name, but they change every few months I believe- Lovely grounds and we ate a wonderful make it yourself salad. Not large but impressive gift shop on one very long... More

We went to see the "Art from Flour" exhibit and "Beyond the Horizon." Both were interesting but all of us found the Horizon exhibit to be amazing. The art works are well spaced so there was plenty of room to walk around pieces not on the wall. The shifting light (from video projections) on Colby Parson's work, felt like cloud shadows... More

We enjoyed an evening of jazz performed by graduate colllege UNCW music students. We also enjoyed seeing a couple of current art exhibits, as well.

I've been to the museum many times for exhibits, events, music, movies and more but I went to the exhibit about flour sacks and was again impressed with the quality of the exhibit, the friendliness of the staff and the overall enjoyment of the experience.

This is one of their best exhibits since I joined a year and a half ago. I've been 3 times and noticed something new each time. I'm big into books and art- combine the 2 and bingo! Fantastic exhibit. There are encyclopedias that are cut to look like a mini Grand Canyon, book excavations, manipulated books, sewn words.... You have... More

For a small museum, they have thoughtful shows throughout the year. My favorite show is their annual show, called Light of Illumination: Lanterns at Cam around Christmas. Artists submit proposals for this juried show and the lanterns are on display from the beginning of December through the beginning of January. The inventive works are stunning, hand-crafted lanterns from forty artists... More

Just back from a visit to The Cameron Art Museum, located just off 17th Street extended (@ the intersection of Independence Blvd). There were three exhibits going on: Lanterns (made by craftsmen), Flour Sacks (really!) & Book Art. I will attach a few pictures and you will see what makes this museum so special. The museum runs their exhibits for... More

This museum is open year round, but my favorite time to visit is for the Christmas Exhibit when Christmas trees are auctioned of to benefit Hospice in Wilmington. They will have roughly 40plus trees which are all decorated in different themes and manners. It's a beautiful sight! They have a cafe in the middle which comes in handy between looking... More

The exhibit was very nice, and the dining room was a bonus surprise. It has a very eclectic menu. The museum is bright and spacious.
