This weekend the horse drawn carriage hobbyists provided shuttle services between sites. Volunteer docents were out in force.

Only small gift shop & tiny tiny museum open. Drove up to the "Plantation" no one there! Not a "Tara" from "Gone With the Wind". So if u r looking to see Plantation living. Forget it.More

This is a great stop. You can visit the Roanoke Chowan Center which has a shop with things for kids, too, a used bookshop, great facilities and interesting exhibits from 1500s to 1900s. Mansion is full of fine antiques, but tour includes "belowstairs" .King house...More
