We only had a few hours here. We were able to walk around and see the buildings without a ticket. A ticket is required to go into most of the buildings and see time period reenactments.

My wife and I love visiting OSMG. It's Williamsburg without the size, crowds and hype. It is a must see when in WInston-Salem.

Charming town with lots of historical value. We enjoyed lunch at the tea room and found the book store staff friendly and helpful.

Highlights: History well explained (thought-provoking, fact-filled, docents tailor their lectures to the audience, especially making sure kids are engaged) and buildings are authentic in detail (which means they're not always accessible - lots of stairs and uneven cobbled/brick streets and sidewalks). A working bakery, beautiful churches, gift shops, presentations from museum workers, friendly people and charming community. A wonderful look into history of the Moravian People and of North Carolina.
