This is a hidden gem! This is a living museum where costumed "interpreters" staff different buildings within the "village." There is a church, store, a few houses, cobbler, baker, cabinetmaker, gunsmith, and a few other "trades." The docents are extremely knowledgeable about the time period...More

This is a smaller version of Williamsburg. There are not the crowds but smaller crowds and you can see more venues.

The all around ticket is a good choice for going into the shops and living museum sites. I sometimes just like to shop at the bakery and the visitors center. At Christmas it is really a special place to be.

We found ourselves in Your city and not place to stay. They ladies took time to help us find a place and we had a nice tour the next day. We felt right at home in Old Salem.
