It's a good day trip for family or couples. You get to experience how things we're made and done before electricity was available

My Great Grandmother used to live in, Old Salem. As soon as you walk onto the grounds, you're transported to a magical time. The beautiful old buildings, and homes, are magnificent!! The staff, are always very nice, and helpful. Old Salem, is a, "must see," in my book!!

Old Salem Museums & Gardens are the quintisential historical location. It is the oldest planned city in America. Great exhibits and and perfectly restored buildings. Check out the great farmers market on Saturday mornings all summer long.

We spent about 3 hours walking around. The treats at the bakery were fantastic. It's a must do in Winston Salem.

We drove over to walk around the original Salem area. So no traffic or people on Sunday morning but that made it nice to walk and take pictures of the area.

We loved experiencing Moravian history in Old Salem. The bakery, graveyard, and college were some of our favorite stops!

nice destination for those interested in American history. While not as large a restored area as, say Colonial Williamsburg, nevertheless it offers a unique view of life as lived by the Moravians of the 1700's. Very nice Visitor Center and gift shops, scenic streets, interesting gardens and architectural highlights abound.
