Beautiful January day, sun, surf and sand, rebuilt pier

Quite a day - 70 degrees plus in January 2017 - on the beach. Surf breaking with surfers therein. Many people sunning themselves. People in hammocks under the pier. Great... read more

There is a large fishing pier near the down town with a small restaurant and fishing supplies. Admission is $2.00 for adults. It is a... More

We took turns swimming and eating and even did a little beachy shopping in the nearby neighborhood. I would love to go again.

If you love a beach that you can walk for miles without seeing huge hotels lining it, this is the beach for you. Surfers love the waves. Finding seashells is easy. Many fisherman fishing off the beach. Easy and relaxing, a great North Carolina beach experience.

Stayed at a resort nearby and walked along the beach several times a day. Very relaxing and clean ; few people this time of year; beautiful water and seashells.

Actually we were a family with adult children. The weather was beautiful, with the temperatures ranging from chilly but sunny mornings to warm afternoons; evenings were cool, requiring a light jacket. The beach is beautiful! We walked along the shoreline and dipped our feet in the water, which was quite cool. Fishermen were set up along the beach catching whitings.... More

We went for a sunset walk on the beach. There were few people. The beach was nice and clean. It was a good experience. Parking is easy this time of year. Find a spot, park, and make a nice walk to the beach.

Stopped by after work, was amazed that there were so few people at the beach on a beautiful day. Walked around until sunset enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and the sound of the waves.
