This Park seemed unassuming when we arrived, because it was such a large wide open countryside. But, as we drove into the nice campground, and parked the RV, we then climbed the nature stairs to the Visitor Center, and we were impressed with the relics...More

FALSP is just outside of Mandan, ND and is a great destination for a quick hike or to camp by the Missouri River. If you're into U.S. history, there is a lot to see here.

Lovely park on the Missouri and Heart Rivers. On-A-Slant Village is located at the park and it is so cool to step back in time and see how the indians lived so long ago.

We stopped for the Mandan village which was pretty good But the museum lured us in regarding the fort. We are no big Custer fans but this is where he left on his way to try to corral far too many unhappy Indians. Interesting

Is there an advantage to riding the Trolley to Fort Lincoln or is it best to take your own car?

The trolley is fun but it does restrict your time at the park because it only runs for a few hours. So it depends on how much time you want to spend at Ft.Lincoln. Or if you can have someone pick you up, you could ride the... More
