This is a great place to show what Lewis and Clark experienced when they encountered the earthen lodge tribes of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara tribes of the northern plains. I enjoy visiting Fort Abraham Lincoln state park when I have visitors from other parts...More

Wow. This is a very interesting and historic place! The village allows visitors to go inside the structures and get a sense of what it might have been like to live in this Mandan village.

This native American village is located inside Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. It is a neat re-creation of the village overlooking the Missouri River. Well worth the stop and a neat visit for children.

We stopped here as part of our visit to Fort Lincoln. This is an amazing stop. The tour was so informative. Truly a great treasure on the area. Great visitor area, short walk.

The rebuilt Mandan Indian dwellings are really amazing and the ranger guided tour really brings the facility to life. We learned a lot, and it really feels like you're experiencing the village's life.

The "earth homes" were interesting, but don't get there after 5:00 and miss the museum like we did...

The tour of this village was like I had never imagined. Getting to walk through the huts and temple to see how they lived and worshiped was pretty awesome. We got to see how they kept warm and the foods they grew.

This is time well spent to learn about the native American Indians of the northern plains and Missouri River Valley. They were creative, industrious, resourceful and excellent farmers. Go and learn.

We took our 3-6 grade students here for a field trip mid march. They really seemed to enjoy the culture!

The fee for a park interpretive pass is $6 for adults and $4 for students. That pass gets into all tours and interpretive sites in the park.
