Had an amazing experience volunteering at kosgoda turtle conservation and the only thing I would change is that I should of stayed longer! The best turtle release to visit if you are travelling around sri Lanka and would like to see one. Very informative and sustainable - and you can get involved with releasing turtles in the evening.

Entry fee is 500 LKR per person and it is worth visiting as you get complete information of sea turtles. you can see white sea turtles which are very rare, just like white tigers. you can hold the baby turtles

Besides seeing the sea turtles in the ocean, this is the second best place to see them. You can tell they was really well looked after which was great. The guides were very knowledgeable and their knowledge in different languages was amazing. You can tell everyone working here has a real passion for the sea turtles. I won't tell you... More

Interesting short visit/stop point for those heading down the coast to Galle. This was included as part of a private day tour, but the short presentation was informative with the opportunity to handle baby turtles and slightly larger ones. The logic behind the program was explained and demonstrated and we saw injured or birth defect turtles (albino) which are captive... More

A fantastic place for all ages. They show us the eggs the picked up in early morning, the new born turtles, one day old, two days old. Big 35 years old turtles, disabled turtles and white albinos turtles. Fascinating!

It has people to explain, but they run out of staff on some days, however, even on our own we enjoyed seeing this amazing creatures, who need our help to survive.

It's a small place with about 6 small tanks with few sea turtles and there is no body to explain about the turtles or the project. You will have to just go around by your own and see the turtles on the tanks by your own (no explanation and don't at least have a board with a description). Ticket is... More

Had an amazing visit to this place. Not a government funded institution but rather a private venture. Was wiped out in the tsunami in 2004, but has been rebuilt. They seem to be doing an amazing job. Information and knowledge of our guide was impressive and he is quite passionate about the work they are doing. Initially sad to see... More
