We drove to the trailhead parking lot - there was good signage for getting off the main road and to the trailhead. We took the straight route which is the one that goes clockwise. All of the coastal trail is excellent, especially the 1st half, so do not take the short cut inner trail. The views are great! There was... More

My husband and I decided to follow 'the bergs' and make Newfoundland our destination of choice for our anniversary. As avid hikers we decided to stop in Port Rexton to hike the renowned Skerwink trail. We were not disappointed , having been told by many that it might be too dangerous or difficult at this time of the year. So... More

Did this hike during my stay in Trinity, NL (May-2016) and really enjoyed the hike and the views. It's about 2-3 hours to complete the hike, depending on your pace and how many photos your might want to take. The trail is well marked and was fairly easy to find the start. There's a parking lot across the road from... More

A beautiful walking trail that is very well maintained... by volunteers. The trail takes you through a wooded area as well as along the shoreline making for some very picturesque opportunities. We saw a woodpecker along the way as well as shore birds. If you love hiking you will love this trail.

This trail is more of a walk that a real hike but it was well worth the detour. The views of the ocean and Trinity (on the other side of the trail) were stunning. This is a nice little trip that takes a couple of hours. The trail has a lot of boardwalk sections and well maintained stairs. There is... More

My wife and I made this one of our last hikes on The Rock and it is certainly one to remember. The full circuit is a good trek but don't omit the Lookout Path near the 3.5 km mark. It's well worth the extra climb. The views are all breathtaking and if there is fog in the forecast, consider going... More

A superb trail of 5.5 km (seemed like 7) around the coastal head high above the sea with spectacular views. Although a rugged area, the path is clearly defined, with many flights of steps both up and down and some rather more difficult surfaces to manage. This was a final walk before we left Newfoundland to return to UK and... More

I've done this trail a few times now. It's about a two hour walk and you'll see some incredible views. Although most can handle it, the hike does have a lot of steep steps in places and may not be suitable for young children or people with mobility issues. Good footwear is a must, can be challenging if it is... More

If you like walking/hiking try this. Will suit beginner/intermediate levels, it's not too taxing and takes about 3 to 4 hours depending on fitness. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest and take in the views.
