We had found by chance a brochure about this trail and sought it out. It was a very easy walk. Due to timing we were only able to walk about 4 km but it was very enjoyable. It was helped by the fact that the weather and the colours were very good. It is a nice level trail, at least... More

This converted rail trail is an easy walk with many readily located parking spots along the 19k trek for easy pick up & drop off hiking . The forested short piece just out of Ayers Cliff is particularly lovely. The trail follows the river and is well travelled and maintained. We were not as impressed with the portion nearer Beebe... This 19 km path is between Ayer's Cliff and Beebe (4 km from Stanstead). The trail is on a former rail line so it is mainly flat but slightly downhill from Beebe. The surface is packed gravel, but we had no problem on our hybrid bikes. The trail follows the Tomifobia River for most of the distance and there are... More

Beautiful trial for walking or biking. Bring a picnic and admire the view. Birds and tortoises hang out along the trail. Very nice for families, friends and couples.

A nice 12.5 miles trail for walking, cycling, cross-country skiing that goes from Ayer's Cliff up to Stanstead (province of Quebec) along the windingTomifobia river. You travel on a former railroad bed so there is no steep hill to climb and you have everywhere a scenic view on wetlands, marshes, fields, woods, etc. You peep at turtles, birds and deers.... More

We enjoyed cycling this well-maintaned trail with a start in Ayer's Cliff - slight incline southbound, makes for a nice slight decline return on way back. We went all the way to border, and enjoyed the trail and scenery. Saw a Blue Heron and some deer as well. Though there are picnic tables in spots, would have been nice to... More

The Tomifobia Nature Trail / Sentier Nature Tomifobia is a 19-kilometer path built on a railroad bed that connects Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec to Stanstead and Beebe, Quebec, which are just over the border from another trail in Vermont. The use in French of the word “Sentier” instead of the more usual “Piste” is indicative of the woodlands nature of the... More
